Did you know you can use your medical insurance at Vision Center, P.C., if you have a medical condition affecting your eyes?
We file and accept assignment of benefits for many insurance plans. These plans include but are not limited to the following: Medicare Part B, Iowa Title XIX, HAWK-I, United Health Care, Tricare and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Although most medical insurances will cover the following diagnoses, you may still be responsible for part of your eye exam called refraction. This is the part of the exam where the doctor measures the prescription of your eyes.
Examples of medical diagnoses that are covered at our clinic include:
- Diabetic Eye Exam
- Glaucoma Evaluations
- Cataract Evaluations
- Dry Eye Evaluation
- Macular Degeneration
- Patients taking drugs such as Plaquenil or Amiodarone
- Eye Allergies
- Pink Eye
- Lazy Eye
- Headaches and Migraines
- Eyestrain or Eye Pain
- Foreign Body in the Eye
- Scratched Eye (abrasion)
- Flashes, Floaters, or Visual Disturbance
You may also use your Flex spend dollars at our clinic for exam reimbursement, or in our optical department to purchase sunglasses (with or without prescription), prescription eyewear, contact lenses, safety glasses, vitamins and other materials. Please call our business office for more information.
We cannot guarantee payments on your claim as your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company.
Routine Eye Health exams are different from Medical Eye Examinations in many ways. Some insurance companies offer an annual eye wellness exam which you may be able to use at our clinic for your yearly eye exam. Please contact our business office for questions regarding coverage.
If Vision Center, P.C. is not on your Vision Insurance Plan Provider Network, you still have the option of seeing our doctors in our clinic, and we will give you the necessary paperwork to get reimbursed with out-of-network benefits.
